HTC Marlin Spotted on GeekBench

It looks like Google is gearing up for unveiling it’s two new smartphones this year, the Sailfish and the Marlin.
In our previous post, we had leaked about the low-end Nexus Sailfish but what about the higher end Nexus Marlin?


Thanks to the leaks, we’ve now got to know the specifications and more about the device.

It’s going to be manufactured by the HTC. Everyone is pretty much excited about this because this is going to be HTC’s second Nexus smartphone after the Nexus One had made headlines back in 2010.

As it’s going to be a high-end device, it’ll feature a 5.5-inch screen.This screen won’t be any standard display, as it’ll be a QHD Super AMOLED 2k display.

It’ll run on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.

It’ll feature a Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor with 4 GB RAM
You might be thinking why a 4 GB ram when you have a 6 GB RAM smartphone, but we need not worry as we know how highly optimized Nexus phones are as they’ll be running on a pure stock interface without unnecessary bloatware.

It’ll feature a 12-megapixel rear facing camera and will have a fingerprint sensor underneath.At the front, it’ll be having an 8-megapixel selfie camera.

A 3450mah battery, coupled with the type-C port for fast-charging which will charge faster as well as last longer!

Now, coming to the storage according to GeekBench,
It has two storage options, a 32 GB model or a 128 GB model. It may ditch the 64 GB variant.

According to GeekBench, it may have a Snapdragon 820 chipset, but we can’t be sure as this is just a leak. It may feature a Snapdragon  821 chipset!

Release Date & Pricing

I know you guys must be wondering when will this smartphone release! Well, It’ll release this coming September along with its younger brother, codenamed ‘Sailfish’.Unfortunately, there’s no information on the pricing yet.
